ME, YOU & WE in INDIA

Is there any way, in which we could hope to see a brighter side of India ahead of times?
-
Yes there certainly will be such a time, a time when we can let the entire world would point finger at us & say, these Indians have in them to be at the top. This is one question that really gets me charged up, every time somebody asks me. And this question usually comes up during August Independence day period, when most people watch inspiring movies on TV like Rang De Basanthi , Swades & Roja… & their adrenaline starts pumping which makes them think this way for few hours, later to remember about the topic only next season. These thoughts come & go just like seasons that change with weather. :) Let’s face it, it’s not only you & your friends around you but everybody… we are like that. There are people who wish to bring that change around from grass root level but still aren’t able to find ways to contribute to make their presence felt.

If you felt, the above person whom we just spoke about … is You, may be You or some what like You … then this article is for you. Hey don’t read this with too high expectation, as this article is written by me who is no godman to the world :). I can only express views which I have been doing over years of my freelance writing. But if you wish to make these things concrete, it’s necessary that you may have to think while you read or at least resist your thoughts while you read but only to think later. hmmm, did this line confuse you … if yes, I am happy that you have already started to, to start thinking :).

Small Thoughts:

1> Knowing your right & fighting for it:
Before preaching about this thought to your friends, make sure you are following this in your life else just know that it is still not your turn to preach & keep quite. How many times have you noticed popular cool drinks in summer, have reduced their content little bit… but still charge you the same price for the same labeled quantity as it was before. You noticed it, but still you keep quite. Did you know, if you knew your right… You would have demanded the shop keeper, he would have demanded the same from his distributor, & he would have asked the same question to the manufacturer. I just spoke about the fate of cool drinks, you may do some more thinking about Ice cream, Body Soaps, Deo’s , powder etc… mind you, the point is asking for your right & fighting only for it but absolutely not mere fighting with no reason.

2> Using your spending power, to buy a product priced lower at a higher price:
- You have the money in your pocket coz you have worked hard in your own way, for earning it. But that doesn’t mean, you shouldn’t care about simple social responsibilities & spend your money in your own way. You don’t wish to see how fresh the goods are at the small grocery store nearby to your house, if he sells Onion at rs10/kg. But if I would place the same onion & put a colorful price tag at rs 15/kg at the super market, you think of all possible reasons to believe that it is the best one. Next Six months down the lane, even the shop keeper near your house starts selling the same Onion @ rs 15/kg. This price variation may or may not affect you & I know that YOU can still survive when such a thing happens but what about daily wage laborers & the needy, they starve & get on roads. Instead of spending for charities that takes care of street people try finding out ways how you can stop them from coming on to streets. Please note, it is this sort of variation in price which leads to unfair trade practices & ultimately results in inflation & YOU are the cause for it.

3> Asking Questions:
- If we are educated, this is the best chance to prove that so we are. You ask 100 questions when your neighbor asks you 100 bugs for emergency purpose, but you fail to ask when the government keeps collecting money from you for no reason. We all raised eye brows few months back, when petrol was increased by around 5 bugs recently across India due to spike in crude oil prices upto $148/barrel. But at present, we have got back to our comfort zone & have been used to paying high price per liter of petrol, with out bothering to ask the government – now that the crude oil is trading at $48/barrel why is still there no rate cut… In a country where ignorance is bliss, every body wishes to create more opportunities to dig hole into another’s pocket. Our civics books in school told, that a democratic government is “of the people, by the people & for the people”. We mug these & score 100 marks, but in life we end up being taxed to death by the same government which was formed by us. Start asking more questions, ask 5 why’s just like how we ask to arrive at a solution in our six sigma technique. If few things were taught to you by education to be understood, then you should learn to understand their purpose of being thought.

I never wanted to mono act, so if I would write anything more than this I would be proving myself wrong. :) I want all your readers to contribute your Idea’s too so that we could put it here. Remember, your simple thought could change the way people around you think… but for this to be effective you should begin to think & express what you think. Make it a habit to liberate your thoughts & make it habitual to think in an independent way. You could write to me at @
